About ASOG
The Atlantic Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (ASOG) was established in 1961 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, as a regional organization dedicated to advancing obstetric and gynaecologic health across Atlantic Canada. For more than six decades, ASOG has served as a forum for obstetricians, gynaecologists, residents, and learners from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador to come together to share knowledge, strengthen collegial ties, and celebrate the practice of our specialty in the Atlantic region.
Today, the Society’s primary focus continues to be its annual scientific meeting, which provides an opportunity for members to reconnect, learn from one another, and highlight emerging research and innovations in clinical practice. As ASOG looks to the future, we are engaging members through a renewed vision and upcoming survey to help shape our evolving identity—exploring how we can expand our role in supporting professional development, mentorship, advocacy, and regional collaboration in obstetric and gynaecologic health.
Grounded in our Atlantic roots and longstanding sense of community, ASOG remains committed to fostering connection, learning, and excellence among those who provide obstetric and gynaecologic care for patients and families throughout the region.
